Why a Fox a Big Tail and The Bear and the Rabbit Little Once - An Orochi Fairy Tale for Kids

One day, and this was a long,  long time ago, the Lord of the Forest declared that it was his intention to present every animal with a tail.  The animals heard about it and set off to see him in a great hurry. The fox,  the bear and the rabbit ran along together, but on the way the fox decided trick her two friends.

Said the Fox:

"Why don't you go and eat some raspberries, friends? There are plenty of them growing beyond the mound there.  And as for me, I'm going to try and catch us a bird for dinner. The way is long, and we need some food."

The bear and the rabbit believed what the fox, sly thing that she was, told them, and off they went to piek the raspberries. While the bear was eating the berries and the rabbit standing near and watching him,  the fox lost no time. Off she ran to the house of the Lord of the Forest all by herself,  and as she was there before anyone,  got the biggest of the tails. But the bear and the rabbit were the last to arrive, and by the time they did there was only one tail left.  There was no help for it, so the Lord of the Forest tore the tail in two and gave one half to the bear and the other to the rabbit.

And that is why the fox has a big tail and the bear and the rabbit little ones.
